New Beginnings...

"The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace." Num 6: 24-26

I was going to wait until tomorrow to post this, but I am feeling so blessed right now that I just couldn't wait.

At 4:30, our small town heroes showed up and started in on a three hour project of moving the chicken coop and yard.  This whole experience of meeting these men and having them volunteer their time has been an amazing blessing to our family and I am so glad that my kids got to see the Lord working in our lives in such a practical way.

This picture is to give you a perspective of what is being moved:

They began by taking down the chain link fence and hooking the coop up to a four wheeler with a chain:
The coop made it a few inches beyond the fence and then got stuck:
So, they brought in the big guns...a truck and proceeded to pull it out.  Next, they had to turn the coop:

Now it got really exciting as they pulled the coop up the alley and into it's new spot.  They could only get it within about 10 feet of it's planned resting place by pulling it, so they moved on to pushing it:

As gently as they could, they pushed and pushed and pushed the coop towards the fence and then changed back to the four wheeler for the final shoves.  They placed a metal pipe under the coop and slid  pushed it into place.
A PERFECT FIT!!!  They did an amazing job!!!! It couldn't get any closer to the fence without knocking it over!!

They had a crowd watching them the whole time:
We had them take a break so we could serve them dinner and chat with them a bit.  We had a great time of fellowship and made some new friends.  I imagine a barn raising being something similar to this, only on a much larger scale.  After food and fellowship, we put up the fence for the chicken yard.  Our chickens now have a new place of residence and we have new friends.
We truly hope our neighbor is happy now and that there can be complete peace between our homes.  I am so thankful for the generous offer from total strangers that have now become friends.

God is good...all the time!!

  2. I am so happy to meet you Denisa. You have a lovely place here. It is such a blessing when things like you've described happen. It draws us together - we become family. Just the way the Father intended it to be. What a wonderful thing for your children to witness.
