Today...I am enforcing a relaxation day for me and the kids.  The last couple of weeks have been crazy busy and I'm needing to take a deep breath and enjoy what we have accomplished before I move on with my Home Blessing List.

Yesterday was a day filled to the brim and by the end of it, there were tears to be had by almost all of us before we fell asleep.  Our day began wonderfully with a quick clean up before we had friends over for a play date.  The kids played and I was able to fellowship with a dear friend.  My shiny, happy friend!!  We postponed naps so we could go to a magic show at the library.  The kids loved it and a few of them continue coming up with their own tricks...again and again.  The day was hot and naps were finally had.  Then, yard work began.  What was I thinking?  This is when the tears started to flow.  My youngest was crying over every little thing that involved him not getting his way.  My sweet Lydia stuck with me as I cut back the lilac bushes while her siblings scattered to play.  She would pick up the branches and pile them up near our wood pile.  All of a sudden, she is screaming and crying...a BEE STING!!!  Her very first one and her world came crashing down on her.  "Will it ever go away?"  was what everyone wanted to know.  I put some toothpaste on it and within ten minutes she was back outside with me...not helping, but hanging near.  I dove back into clipping the hedges, sweat pouring, branches flying, mosquitoes biting and biting and biting and then all activity stopped as little bits and pieces of plant entered into my eyes.  I was blind and in pain.  Not only were my eyes in pain, but my ankles and lower legs were throbbing from mosquito attacks.  This is where my tears start flowing.  My eyes kicked into overdrive in order to get the debris out.  The kids had to lead me back indoors because at that point I was no longer able to open my eyes.  Thankfully, God created eyes to work in such a magnificent way and after my daughter picked debris from my eyelashes, and a brief rest, I was able to open my eyes again.  Dear Husband is working until 7, so I am on my own for most of the evening, so I hop in the tub to get cleaned up and to relax for a few minutes.  Then, I'm off to finish getting dinner ready and we ate outside since it was brutally hot inside.  The list goes on...clean up kitchen, give baths, pray, put kids to bed...pass out.

So, you can see why today is a relaxing day.  The kids have bickered only a small amount and that has helped to aid in my Calgonesque state of mind.  I'm going to work on my quilt once the younger kids are down for a nap and we are having leftovers for dinner.  We will eat outside again since it is going to be another hot one today, which is a double edged sword:

I love eating outside...
I hate being eaten alive...
Whomever said that vampires don't exist is wrong...terribly wrong.  They do exist.  My body shows the proof of their blood sucking ways!!!!

I feel sorry for her husband...

This is what happens when they insist there is enough room for everyone...

I thank Jesus for "peace I leave with you.  My peace I give to you..." (John14:27).  I pray His peace is with you today...tomorrow...always.

Until next time, Denisa
