My Turn? Really?

...and the beat goes on!!!  After my husband's severe bout with pneumonia that landed him in the hospital for 7 days, I found myself feeling ill late Friday evening.  It made sense, with being so stressed over DH and juggling all my responsibilities as a mom.  However, last night, after four nights of not being able to sleep and feeling absolutely miserable, I became very weepy and asked my husband to take me to the hospital.  Sure enough, I now have pneumonia!  I was so surprised, but it makes sense.  The doc offered to admit me, but I kindly declined knowing I would rest better at home.  I'm only 3 blocks away from our little hospital and I agreed to come in again if I started feeling worse.

DH had to go to work today, so the kids and I were on our own and I am NOT functioning anywhere close to normal.  In fact, I'm stunned that I am actually feeling up to doing this entry.  However, my coughing has lessened for the moment and I'm trying to take advantage of this up moment.  When I crash, it is over for the night.  The kids were amazing today.  My oldest especially.  She helped to keep the home running as smoothly as possible and helped me with my breathing treatments.  I think she enjoys setting up the machine and putting in the medicine.  I truly appreciate her help.

I won't be back for a little while, but wanted to let all of my bloggy friends know what was going on and why I have been absent so often over the last few weeks.

Yes, DH is doing awesome!  He still coughs like an old man, but the doctor says that is expected and could last several more weeks.  I'm so thankful that he is doing better and truly on the mend.

I am thankful to God for taking care of my family during these last weeks.  Friends have been wonderful about bringing food or offering to care for my children.  My stress level was so much less knowing my children were in loving hands.

Well, I'm starting to fade, so I'm going to shut down.  Hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week.  Be blessed and stay healthy!!

  1. I hope you are feeling better soon. Rest and let everyone fend for themselves. They will survive and maybe learn a few housekeeping chores.

  5. I hope you feel better soon. I have never had pneumonia, but my son did and he was so very sick. I would bring you homemade chicken soup if I lived close!! For some reason it really does make you feel better for a little while. Hurry and get well. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs!

  8. Hi Denisa, I am a member of Blissful ATC and heard you were ill. I am so sorry. Do get lots of rest. I had pneumonia after a car accident and it took forever to get over it. Of course I had broken bones, was 18 years old and didn't want to "REST", so it took a long time. Sounds like you caught it early. So I wish you well soon and my final word to you is "REST".
